Loukia's Landscape Qualifications

Loukia's Landscapes is owned by UK born, Lucy Monk. Loukia spent 5 years working for a large UK Horticultural Company, Blooms of Bressingham, Diss in Norfolk, UK. She gained her knowledge there as a Landscape Designer and Mail Order Marketing and Quality Controller. She also ran the Mail Order Advisory Service for Blooms of Bressingham, giving all customers valuable help and advice on perennial and herbaceous plants through Mail Order. In 1997 she began a Degree with Honours in Landscape Design and Horticulture at Writtle College, Essex, UK. This was a 3 year course and in 2000 Loukia took a year out to work as Sales Manager for a large Tree and Shrub Nursery in Farnham, Surrey. In 2001 Loukia went back to study a Masters Degree at Imperial College, London. The subject was Plant Pest and Disease Management in Horticulture, therefore enabling Loukia to give qualified advice in Entomology, Plant Pathology and Microbioloby subjects. Loukia's Landscapes was established over one and a half years ago after the owner, Loukia moved to Cyprus and spent six months gaining valuable knowledge of how to run a Landscaping business in Cyprus when she worked for a large Landscape Nursery in Paphos. Since starting her business she has designed and built over 40 new gardens for private properties, including gardens for the Major of Pafos at the Municipality Gardens in the tourist area of Kato Pafos. Loukia regularly writes monthly articles for the local ex pat magazine, The Grapevine and has made several lectures for the ex pats gardening clubs regarding Landscape Designer and plants that can be used her in Cyprus. She has also had a small gardening programme on local Pafos Tv and several Pafos TV interviews regarding small businesses opening up here in Cyprus.
